Family Summer Picnic 2014

This past Sunday, Habitat brought together families from over 25+ years of service in the York county area to Cousler park for an afternoon of fun, food, and games. This year's annual family summer picnic helped provide a special opportunity for York Habitat families to reconnect with old friends and connect with new ones!

Habitat would like to thank the members of our Family Services committee for their help in organizing this picnic and supporting our habitat homeowners! We would also like to thank Metro Bank for sponsoring this year's Family Summer Picnic!

12@12

Today, York Habitat hosted a 12@12 luncheon. The 12@12 luncheon is an informational meeting  in our office, where anyone can come and join us for a meal and learn more about Habitat for Humanity.

If you are interested and want to learn more about our organizations, but are unable to make lunch? Consider joining us at our Habitat 101. Just like the 12@12, interested participants can join us for the same presentation at a more convenient time in the evening.

Our upcoming Habitat 101 meeting is Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. and the next 12@12 luncheon will be held on Thursday, August 28th.

Welcome

Thank you and welcome to the York Habitat for Humanity's blog. This website will be used to give you the reader an inside look on what is happening in the office and on the build site.

About Us:

York Habitat for Humanity is a volunteer driven, Christian based housing ministry that builds safe, decent, and affordable homes in partnership with lower-income York County residents living in substandard housing. Funded mainly by private donations, York Habitat provides a “hand up, not a hand out” by offering qualified families interest free, 30 year mortgages. With the completion of York Habitat’s 113th home in 2014, over 400 men, women, and children live in Habitat Homes in York County! Since 1985, York Habitat has created over $6.7 million worth of new or rehabilitated affordable housing, which generates more than $300,000 in tax revenue. Over 7,950 volunteers work with York Habitat annually, 2250 of which are construction volunteers.
